So....We took the kids fishing last weekend, the FIRST time I have been fishing in YEARS... Anyway, I offered $50 to the first person to catch a fish. We went to Rockport, stayed about three hours and then decided that we were sick of snagging our lines every 2minutes and headed up to Smith and Morehouse.
After spending 20minutes talking Ellie down from freaking out about the bugs, everyone was settled in their spot so I proceeded to tell her to "cast!"I went over to my spot (10 feet from her) and cast my line. At that point Ellie said, "Mom, I think I have one." (I kid you not, less than 3 minutes after she cast).... I blew her off again and said.. "good, start reeling it in honey." My line was caught up so I was in no big hurry to help her. She said...it's a big one mom....at that point I asked Nathan to help her reel in and I continued casting my line. I sat down and then looked at what Nathan was reeling in.. LOL.. IT WAS A RAINBOW TROUT! Ellie won the $50!!!
Ellie finished reeling it in..but then we were stuck with the dilemma of ... "um...whadda we do now?" We had all the "right gear" to deal with catching fish -- but not the knowhow! So, we got Ellie's fish in the net and were deciding what to do next when all of the sudden Ryann starts saying... "I got one, I got one." I was just about to take Ellie's still picture when that happened..and in all the excitement I didn't get back to taking her still photo with her fish.
The day was hilarious, some of the significant events include: a bout with diarrhea, hook ripping flesh, falling on rocks, broken poles, bug attacks and freakouts, swearing with passion, boaters, ripped shirts, underwear, shopping for glasses, fishing gloves, chair in water, and more..much more........If the camera could have been rolling all day, I am sure we would have a winner on America's Funniest Video....
Good Times people, Good Times!

Cute cute! I love to fish also. So much fun, but I don't touch the fish at all... something about the slimey scales gets me!
