True Love and Happiness...What an amazing feeling!
It has been just over two years since I made the commitment to myself to change my life. I finally decided that I could not ignore the feelings anymore and came out to my family and friends about my sexual orientation.
It was one of the hardest things I have even done. I ended an 8 year marriage, I changed jobs, I broke up my family....and the changes I made go on and on.
Who could have ever imagined that during the last 2 years I would grow so much as a person and find the true meaning of love and happiness? Hiding from who you are and who you have always wanted to be can really complicate your life and your ability to be happy and peaceful with yourself. I have found that since coming out, I have been able to cultivate relationships with people who truly love and accept me, for me. I have also found that certain people who I thought cared about me and would always be in my life have either backed away or ended their relationship with me. Why can't people just love and accept you for who you are?
I have a beautiful life. I have the love of the most amazing women, and 5 wonderful kids! What more could I have ever asked for? I wondered if I was ever going to find that special person who I had always imagined would be in my life. I found myself wishing, hoping, and imagining when and how I was going to meet her. In June 2006 she walked into my life. From the moment our eyes met I knew that she was the one for me. She was beautiful in every way. She was one of those people that you meet and you are instantly drawn in by their personality and intelligence. We began our life together that amazing day in June of 2006 and we have never looked back. I know now in my heart the true meaning of love. Until you have felt what real love feels like you will never be able to understand its power. Knowing that every day of your life you get to share it with someone who is so inspiring, and nurturing, open and honest, soft and compassionate, and still makes your heart flutter with every touch...You know you have someone special.
I am at a place in my life that I have never been. I have never been able to wake up every single day and smile about who I am, what I am and how I am. I feel so fulfilled and rewarded. I feel that no matter what challenges I face, I am a strong women. I have faced fear, rejection, and persecution and I have grown from that.
I am truly in love and truly happy.
Thank you baby...for all of your encouragement and understanding. For your patience and your love. For you I am, always and forever.
I wish you all, Peace, Love and Happiness.
